Cost of apples per lb = $0.89

Weight of apples my friend wants = 5.2 lb

Price my friend has to pay =

= 5.2 * 0.89

= $4.628

My friend has to pay $4.628 .

Quantity of apple I want =

= 6 (5)/(10) \: pounds

Price I have to pay :-

= 6 (5)/(10) * 5.2

5.2 = (5 * 5)/(2 * 5)

5.2 = (25)/(10)

= 6 (5)/(10) * (25)/(10)

= ((10 * 6 + 5))/(10) * (25)/(10)

= (65)/(10) * (25)/(10)

= (65 * 25)/(10 * 10)

= (1625)/(100)

= $16.25

Therefore , I alone would have to pay $16.25 .
