Diffusion- the movement of substances through the cell membrane without the use of cellular energy
Facilitated diffusion- Using a transport protein to move particles across the membrane with the concentration gradient (from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration)
Osmosis- the diffusion of water through a cell membrane
Active transport- When molecules move from areas of low concentration to areas of high concentration (against concentration gradient) using cellular energy
