What were the reasons the Texans decided to stay and defend the Alamo?

Answer:

Texans felt confident because they already had battles against the Mexican army. mexico morale was high. They thought that strategy point to keep Mexican army out of Texas would be a good idea. Mexicans would have to pass to San Antonio. Texans made a stand for independence and they excepted risk of death to hold Alamo for Texas.
