When talking about race and privilege, Coates writes: “‘White America’ is a syndicate arrayed to protect its exclusive power to dominate and control our bodies. Sometimes this power is direct (lynching), and sometimes it is insidious (redlining). But however it appears, the power of domination and exclusion is central to the belief in being white, and without it, ‘white people’ would cease to exist for want of reasons” (p. 42). How do you react to this statement?

Answer:

This statement calls out to me and my fellow black americans we are constantly criticized for our color of our skin "white people" got away with taking someone's else's land and calling it their own , "white people " coexist with us but if they truly thought of us as equals we wouldn't have a color to defy or skin or a name to define who we are they use words and slangs against our people ."white people" want to show domination we live in a society where the phrase " Black lives matter" but "white people" spit on what we have build they spit on our courage our belief's and turn what is ours into theirs.
