the formula for area of a triangle is "area = base x height x 1/2"

the base for this triangle is 8ft and the height is 9ft so this will be your equation: a = 8 x 9 x 1/2

this is equal to 36 square ft

now find the area of the rectangle, the formula is "area = base x height"

the base is 26ft and the height is 15ft

your equation will be: area = 26 x 15

you should get 390 square ft

add the areas of the two shapes to get the total area:

390 + 36 = 426 square feet
