y^2 = 16x is of the form y^2 = 4ax (ie. focal length is a = 4).

The latus rectum is a focal chord at right angles to the axix of the parabola.

In this example the the eauation of the latus rectum is x = 4

Solving y^2 = 16x with x = 4 gives y = -8, 8

Therefore the end points of the latus rectum for y^2 = 16x are (4, -8) and (4,8)
