maya has leased her car for 5 years. she paid $375 each month. darrel purchased a new car 5 years ago. he has now paid it off. he spent a total of $21,500 to buy the same type of car that maya has leased. he spent $500 to replace the tires, but now has a vehicle that is worth $8,500 as a used car. he can sell it or trade it in and purchase a new one. show all calculations and label what money was spent. compare mayas situation to darrels, using complete sentences to explain who is better off after the 5 years

Answer:

Maya spends $22,500 in those 5 year and Darrel spent $22,000 in all. So, Maya spent more than Darrel by $500. If Darrel were to sell his car, he would have gained $8,500 and then have $13,500 gained from after the car payment, but after getting a new one, he would have spent $35,000. So, I think Maya would be better off. (I don't really know the meaning, sorry if it's wrong.)
