Answer:

2x+2

Explanation:

First you want to distribute

1/2(2x+4)

ignore the ending +x for now

Distribute 1/2 to 2x

since 2*1/2 is 1 then we get 1x, or x

next distibute 1/2 to 4

you get +2 since 1/2*4=2

so what you end up with is x+2

However, you still have the +x from the beginning

x+2+x

Imagine that each x has a one in front

1x+2+1x

now re arrange so the common factors are near each other

1x+1x+2

now add the common factors

1x+1x=2x

and finally you get 2x+2
