( - 1)/( \: \: \: 2) y = (1)/(2) + 5

( - 1)/( \: \: \:2) * y = (1)/(2) + 5

( - 1)/( \: \: \:2) * y = (11)/(2)

y = (11)/(2) / ( - 1)/( \: \: \:2)

y = (11)/(2) * ( \: \: \: 2)/( - 1)

y = ( \: \: 22)/( - 2)

y = - 11

The value of y = -11

Therefore :-

( - 1)/( \: \: \:2) * - 11 = (1)/(2) + 5
