Explanation:

1. use PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponent, Multiplication & Division, Addition & Subtraction). you would do 3/4 divided by 3/8 first.

3/4 / 3/8 = 2

2. add 2 to -2 1/2 (or if it's easier to understand, do 2 minus 2 1/2)

-2 1/2 + 2 = -1/2 OR 2- 2 1/2 = -1/2

answer is -1/2
