You will study both of these images, by comparing and contrasting them. The image on the left is by French minimalist artist Quibe and it’s a portrait of Stan Lee. The image on the right is by an unknown artst, and it’s actually only a small section of a much larger drawing.

Begin by giving a brief description of both images. Then explain what the pictures have in common, and in what way they are different. Finish off by explaining which image you prefer, and why?

Think of the following questions while you write:

What immediately stands out about the differences in the two pieces?
What types of lines and shapes do we see in each image?
Do you believe that both of these works are on the same level, in terms of talent?

What stands out from the pieces to me is, the drawing of Stan Lee has much less detail than the drawing from the unknown artist. The unknown artist has much darker and thicker lines than the portrait by Quibe. And yes personally, I believe both these artist are amazing at what they do, they just execute there art in different ways.
