savings account. She starts
with $550 in the savings
account, and each week she
adds $70.
Let S represent the total
amount of money in the
savings account (in dollars),
and let W represent the
number of weeks Elsa has
been adding money. Write
an equation relating S to W
Then use this equation to
find the total amount of
money in the savings

Answer: Equation: 70w + 550 = s

let w = weeks

let s = total amount of money in savings

Total amount of money after

11 weeks: $1320

weeks = 11

therefore

70(11) + 550 = 1320

Explanation:

70w + 550 = s

let w = weeks

let s = total amount of money in savings

Because every week $70 is added this means 70 multiplied by the weeks gives us the total amount after w(how ever many weeks) weeks. The "+550" comes from the fact that $550 was already in the account therefore after w whatever the amount is there will always be 550 on top.

Total amount of money after

11 weeks: $1320

weeks = 11

therefore

70(11) + 550 = 1320
