How do you calculate molar mass of a gas

Does not matter that the element is a gas.....go to periodic table to find molar mass.....BUT some gases are diatomic ( like Oxygen (O2) hydrogen(H2) and nitrogen(N2)) ...then you to DOUBLE the molar mass on the periodic table if the gas of concern is diatomic .
