use distribution to find the answer

1.) move the like term to one side (combine like terms)

(14x+ 9x) + (-3 + 5)

2.) simplify

(14x+9x) + (5-3)

3.) solve each equation inside the parenthesis

14x+ 9x= 23x

5- 3 = 2

4.) now turn the answers into an equation since they are not like terms

23x+ 2
