What is the slope of the line that passes through the points (4, 9) and (1, 6)?

a = ( 1 , 6 )

b = ( 4 , 9 )


slope = (y(b) - y(a))/(x(b) - x(a)) \\

Now just need to put the coordinates in the above equation :


slope = (9 - 6)/(4 - 1) \\


slope = (3)/(3) \\


slope = 1
