A scientist studied the migration patterns of two types of whales. The humpback whale traveled 2,000 miles in 25 days. The gray whale traveled 2,250 miles in 30 days. Assuming the humpback whale travels the same distance each day, what is the unit rate for the humpback whale in miles per day?

Answer:

it is 80 miles

Explanation:

2000 divided by 25 is 80 therefore you multiply 80 x 30

Humpback whales cover 110 kilometers (68.35 miles) in a day therefore the humpback covers 2.734 miles per day. I believe that’s it because I took how much it takes them to travel in one day which was 110 kilometers (68.35 miles) and divided by 25 and my result was 2.734. Let me know if this helps :)
