1. James wants to buy snacks for his friends for a movie. The cost of one box of popcorn

is $3 and the cost of one soda is $2 but James only has $15 to spend. Write and
equation to represent this situation. Remember to define the variables!
2. If James buys 3 boxes of popcorn how many sodas can he buy?

2.) He can buy 3 sodas

Explanation:

1.) 15 is how much he has, -3 is the price of the popcorn, -2is the price of the soda. =x is what needs to be solved in the equation (its 10 if you need the answer)

2.) He can buy 3 sodas because 3 boxes of popcorn is $9 since one box is $3, he has $15 you take away $9 and you are left with $6 and 6 divided by 2 is 3.
