Cosine ∠x = Adjacent side of ∠x / hypotenuse

Solving :

cos ∠A = opposing side of ∠A / hypotenuse
cos ∠A = 4/5

3/5 because 3 is opposite from angle A and 5 is the hypotenuse. Using SOH CAH TOA opposite is divided by hypotenuse. You get 3/5.
