Soil creep is the most widespread and perhaps the most poorly understood process of erosion on soil-mantled hillslopes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Soil is slowly “stirred” by burrowing creatures and the by the growing and uprooting of vegetation; particles are also displaced in wetting-drying and freezing-thawing cycles.
