Arman is building a bench. The bench comes out from the wall and there is a brace supporting the bench as shown in the figure below. The angle created between the wall and the brace is 52.6°. Which equation can be used to solve for the missing angle?

Hey!!!, we can imagine the right angles triangle formed. ok, let imagine it this way.

1. the bench comes out perpendicular to the wall

2. The brace forms an angel of 52.6

3. then the angle formed between the bench and the wall is 90°.

we know that the sum of angles in a triangles is 180°

let the third angle be x

Therefore the equation to find the missing angle is

x+ 52.6°.+90=180---------------1

x+142.6=180

x=180-142.6

x=37.4°
