Answer:

The Phoenician civilization was located next to the Mediterranean Sea. This is a very important factor since this allowed them to trade with other important civilizations such as Greece. Because of the circumstances in which their civilization was placed, the Phoenicians became the greatest traders of their time. The climate of the Mediterranean is very similar to the one found in California, also known as subtropical. This means that they have mild winters and rather warm summer, with temperatures generally being moderate. The Phoenician's stared in what is now Lebanon, which is located in the Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea and between Israel and Syria. The terrain in Lebanon consists mostly of a narrow-coastal plain, with natural hazards such as dust storms and sandstorms. The geography for the Phoenicians can be hard to explain since they expanded their civilization over most of the southern Mediterranean Sea
