Here,

substituting the value of 4y in eqn i fron eqn ii

so eqn i becomes

`2x + 12 = 16 \\ 2x = 4 \\ x = 2`

So

`y = 12 / 4 = 3`

Thus,

`x = 2 \: and \: y = 3`
