In a well-constructed essay, describe why biodiversity increased with the introduction of sea otters in California over the last fifty

years? Make sure to organize your thoughts using paragraphs. Try to use your best grammatical skills and refrain from using “it” or
bullets. For each claim on why biodiversity increased, support your argument with evidence. Tables, graphs, or pictures may be used
to illustrate your discussion, though points will only be given to the narrative portion of your discussion. Use only the front of the
page for your narrative and if needed the back only for graphics.

Answer:

Sea otters affected biodiversity because they control the populations of sea urchins, which endanger kelp forests. Kelp forests are important because they convert sunlight to living material, and they also provide food and habitat to sea creatures. Kelp is important in sustaining the diversity of ecosystems. Additionally, sea otters may also be accountable for the large size of abalones in California.
