If a sample of 400g of ammonium chlorate is taken, how many grams of chlorine can be

extracted from the sample?

- When decomposed, a sample of mercury (I) carbonate yields 40 g of carbon. What is the
mass of mercury (I) carbonate, given that all carbon from the sample was extracted
without losing any mass of carbon?

Explanation: 400g x 30% Cl = 120g
