The head track coach for PCTVS has a big track meet coming up. He knows that his biggest rival is Clifton and the entire track meet will come down to one event, the 100 meter relay race. The relay race is comprised of 4 runners from each team who run 100 meters each. The track coach has been working on his projections for the race and knows it will come down to the last leg of the race. He is having difficulty with his algebra skills, so he has asked the Honors classes at PCTI to help him make a projection for the race. He knows that on the last leg of the race, his runner will be leading the race. PCTVS's runner runs at a speed of 10.1 meters per second. Clifton's runner runs at a rate of 10.9 meters per second and will start the last leg of the race 0.8 seconds behind the runner from PCTVS. Will PCTVS win the relay race?

Answer:

Which excerpt from "The Catch” appeals to readers’ sense of hearing to help them imagine a scene?

His legs and thigh muscles ached as he trudged through the final swampland.

He tried to thrust off Rohan’s shoulders to push himself over in as though they were in a game of leap frog.

Just then, an old elf released a great eagle from its shackles, a signal for the race to start. When it squawked to freedom, the race began.

The gentle foothills ended quickly, and the runners made a steep scramble to the top of a cliff, followed by a daylong run up across uneven terrain of hard, coarse-grained rock.
