Thus,

(3x + 4) + (5x - 3) = 180

Solve for x

3x + 4 + 5x - 3 = 180

Collect like terms

8x + 1 = 180

Subtract 1 from both sides

8x = 180 - 1

8x = 179

Divide both sides by 8

8x/8 = 179/8

x = 22.375

x = 22.4 (to nearest tenth)

Thus, for lines m and n to be parallel, the value of x will be 22.4.
