Answer: Actual length of the bus = 171.67 feet

Width of the lake on the scale drawing = 12.5 inches

Explanation:

Given : A scale drawing of a school bus has a scale of 12 inch to 5 feet.

i.e. 12 inch = 5 feet

\Rightarrow \text{ 1 inch}=(5)/(12)\text{ feet}

If length of school bus on scale drawing = 412 inches

Then, Actual length of bus =
(5)/(12)*412=171.67\ \text{feet}

A scale drawing of a lake has a scale of 1 cm to 80 m.

If the actual width of the lake is 1,000 m

then, the width of the lake on the scale drawing =
(1000)/(80)=12.5\text{ inches}
