Are these lines parallel,

perpendicular, or neither?
Line 1 passes through (0,3) and (3,1)
Line 2 passes through (-1,4) and (-7,-5)

Answer - Perpendicular

First, find the slope of each line by using the point slope formula [(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)]. You should get that the slope line 1 is -2/3 and the slope of line 2 is 3/2. Using this, we can conclude that both the lines are perpendicular because their slopes are opposite reciprocals (meaning you flip one fraction and change its sign to get the other fraction).
