Answer: The Second Great Awakening challenged traditional Protestant values and culture. It taught people how to act responsible personally. It also emphasized individual power. It taught destiny and salvation to people in the time. It connected people to their religions emotionally. This time was not so happy or sad. It was just a time to focus on your needs & religion. Preachers in every church were encouraging the people that pray in their church to stay longer. This time was also valued by the Preachers because they tried to make the world an even better place. This Great Awakening changed beliefs of Protestants. It was a time where everyone had two goals.

All people are born sinners. Sin without salvation will send a person to hell. All people can be saved if they confess their sins to God, seek forgiveness and accept God's grace. All people can have a direct and emotional connection with God.
