Answer:

y =
(2w)/(x^(2))

Explanation:

To solve an equation for one of its variable do that

  • Underline the variable
  • Separate it on one side and the other terms on the other side
  • Make its coefficient equal 1

Let us use these steps to solve our question

∵ w =
(1)/(2) x²y

→ Underline y

∴ w =
(1)/(2)y

→ Multiply both sides by 2 to cancel the denominator 2

∵ 2 × w = 2 ×
(1)/(2) x²y

∴ 2w = x²y

→ Divide both sides by x² to move it to the left side

(2w)/(x^(2)) =
(x^(2)y)/(x^(2))

(2w)/(x^(2)) = y

→ Switch the two sides

y =
(2w)/(x^(2))
