the answer would be x=0.92
simplify 2x+9.75-7x=5.15
-5+9.75=5.15
subtract 9.75 from both sides
-5x=5.15-9.76
simplify 5.15-9.75 to -4.6
-5 = -4.6
divide both side by -5
x=-4.6/-5
simplify -4.6/-5 to 0.92
x=0.92
