you do 3*4 which gives you 12 and 3*x/3, but you should keep it as x

6*3 is 18

x+12=18 (solve for x)

-12=-12

x=6

check the answer:

3*(6/3+4)=6*3

3(2+4)=6*3

6+12=6*3

18=18

They mutliplied 6 × 3 to get 18

x + 12 = 18

They then subtracted both sides by 12 to isolate the variable

x + 12 - 12 = 18 - 12

x = 6
