Explanation:

The area (A) of an equilateral triangle is calculated as

A =
(s^2√(3) )/(4) ( s is the side length )

Here s = 16, thus

A =
(16^2√(3) )/(4)

=
(256√(3) )/(4) = 64
√(3) ≈ 110.9 cm² ( to 1 dec. place )
