History matters because how would we know that Martin Luther King Jr. help racism and how slavery ended, and how it began. Or how America was found. This is why we need history and why history matters. It's to help us and make sure we don't repeat the same thing that had already happened.

History matters because learning about the past gives us information about the future. For EXAMPLE: the Civil War could get us ready for wars in the future. Kinda like the pandemics of the past gets us ready for the pandemic we’re in right know. If we did not study the past we would not be ready for what’s coming in the future.
