That the pretended power of suspending the laws by regal authority without consent of Parliament is illegal...
This quote from the English Bill of Rights may have influenced the colonists to believe that
O no person may pretend to have power by suspending laws without proper consent
O the king would be able to pass laws that may extend to America
O the executive would need permission from the legislature in order to pass laws
O each person is given certain rights that even regal authority cannot take away
