Explanation:

Hey there!

The given points are; (4,4) and (1,2) as (x1,y1) and (x2,y2).

Note: Use double point formula for the equation.

Now;

(y - y1) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) (x - x1)

Put all values.

(y - 4) = (2 - 4)/(1 - 4) (x - 4)

Simplify it.

(y - 4) = ( - 2)/( - 3) (x - 4)

(y - 4) = (2)/(3) (x - 4)

(y - 4) = (2)/(3) x - (2)/(3) * 4

y = (2)/(3)x - (8)/(3) + 4

y = (2)/(3) x - (8 + 12)/(3)

y = (2)/(3) x + (4)/(3)

Therefore, the equation is; y = 2/3x+4/3.

Hope it helps...
