In the Gulf of Tonkin, Vietnam, Vietnamese worships launched Torpedoes against to United States ships; the Turner joy and Maddox destroyed. The incident provoked the ire of the United States and President Lyndon B Johnson sent the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution to Congress on August 5th 1964, to take the obligated response to repel any attack. Basically, Vietnam turned on the U.S. but there were a few events that led up to that.
