Discriminant = b^2 - 4ac

= 36

Roots:

Method: Sum and Product

Sum = -10

Product = 16

(2x^2 - 8x) - (2x + 8) = 0

2x(x - 4) - (x - 4) = 0

x = 0 or x = 4

Answer:

D=36, x1=1, x2=4

Explanation:

Find the D:

D = b2 - 4ac = (-10)2 - 4·2·8 = 100 - 64 = 36

Since the discriminant is greater than zero, the quadratic equation has two real roots

x1=(10-√(36) )/(2*2) \\x2=(10+√(36) )/(2*2)
