On a cruise boat, there are two phone plans to choose from. Plan A charges a one-time fee of $25.00 to use the phone and $7.50 per minute. Plan B does not charge a one-time fee to use the phone, but charges $10 per minute. Write an equation and find total number of minutes you would have to talk to have equal costs for the plans.

Answer:

Explanation:

Plan A Cost = 7.5*x + 25

Plan B Cost = 10x

The left side of each equation must be equal

10x = 7.5x + 25 Subtract 7,5 x from both sides.

10x - 7.5x = 25 Combine

2.5x = 25 Divide by 2.5

2.5x/2.5 = 25/2.5

x = 10
