Explanation:

(I also had this question but it's really easy if you understand it)

Keep in mind that it says "How many buckets of water does Patricia use to fill the plastic pool completely?"

The 2 fractions they give us is:

The plastic pool holds 4 1/2 gallons of water.

Each bucket holds 1 1/4 gallons of water.

With this information we know that we have to divide:

4 1/2 divided by 1 1/4 ---> (reciprocal) 4 1/2 multiplied by 1 4/1 = 3 3/5

{For any of you that don't know when dividing fractions you keep the first fraction the same, change the divison sign to multiplication, and flip or reciprocal the second fraction)

3 3/5 is our answer to this word problem

Answer:

3 3/5

Explanation:

4 1/2= 9/2

1 1/4= 5/4

Use Keep, Change, Flip method

9/2 x 4/5= 36/10

Simplify to 3 3/5

Patricia uses 3 3/5 buckets of water to fill the plastic pool completely.
