Answer: -151.2

Reasoning: the equation is -42•3.6= ? Even though it’s a negative, you multiply regularly so you can just use the absolute value for when you multiply but when you get your answer, don’t forget to see if you put a negative or if it’s positive- 42
x 3.6
so, when you multiply you get 1512. BUT there’s a decimal. And since there’s only one other number after the decimal, you put the decimal in the answer one space over [in between the 1 & 2] so the answer would be 151.2 but since there are two different signs, and when you have two different signs, you make it negative. So in the end it’s - 151.2 :)

When numbers are written together like that, (other examples: 1/2(2), 4(8), 12(0.5)) It indicates multiplication.

When a negative number is multiplied by a positive number, the result will be negative.

-42 * 3.6 = -151.2
