Answer:

Multiply 4 to the terms inside the parentheses.

(12x+8)-2

Remove the parentheses and equate it to zero.

12x+8-2 = 0

Simplify

12x+6 = 0

Transpose 6 to the other side.

12x = -6

Divide bith sides by 12.

12x/12 = -6/12

Simplify.

x = -6/12 or -½
