William looks around at an assembly. He notices his younger sister to his right and his older brother 8 meters ahead of him. If William's brother and sister are 10 meters apart, how far apart are William and his younger sister?

Answer: 6

Explanation: By this word problem, you can use Pythagorean theorem.
Using 8 as a leg. And the 10 as the hypotenuse.

8^2 + b^2 = 10^2
64 b^2 = 100

100 - 64 = 36.
36 being a perfect square, = 6.
