The scenario is one of the most important elements of a narrative, because it allows the reader to situate himself within the story, in addition, the scenario can pass on a lot of information that helps to understand the other elements that make up the plot.

One of the main factors of the scenario that the author must determine is the period of time in which the story takes place. This determines whether the scenario is modern or old. This can influence the way the characters act and think, as well as influence the clothes, the houses, the way the characters speak and even the language present in the story. This type of influence can also be seen when the author determines where that story takes place, which in addition to what has already been mentioned, can influence the cultural aspects and habits of the characters.

Lastly, it is important to determine whether the scenario is urban or rural, this can change the whole history since the elements that make up the urban scenario are totally different from those that make up the rural scenario.
