Answer:

20 inches

Explanation:

We know the triangles base is 12 inches greater than the height and the area is 80 square inches. The formula for finding the area of a triangle is A= b multiplied by h divided by 1/2.

How I found the answer:

80 x 2 = 160 (this is the area before dividing by 1/2)

If 8 were the height, 20 would be the base. (12 + 8 = 20)

20 x 8 = 160 (base x height)

160 divided by 1/2 = 80 square inches
