You can't find the area of it all at once so you must cut it in have to have two shapes like in the picture above and then name them A and B

Now for the shapes we must use the formula Area= Lentgh times Breath

Shape A: A= L x B

8 x 6 = 48 in²

Shape B : A= L x B

2 x 2= 4 in²

now add 48 plus 4 = 52 in²

When you cut it, there is a missing measurement, which is the length for the small rectangle. To find that, you subtract the other two lengths given, which is 8 and 6, and thats the length for the small rectangle. Then you do l•w for both shapes.
