x be the ? in the equation.

That becomes (
x x 3) - 3 = 15.

First you have to add 3 on both sides. After doing that it gets to (
x x 3) = 15 - 3.

Then you simplify it to 3
x = 12.

Now you divide 3 on both sides. That gets to
x = 4 after doing it.
