2(x + 3) > 3x + 12

2x + 6 > 3x + 12 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

6 > x + 12 ( subtract 12 from both sides )

- 6 > x , that is

x < - 6

The only value less than - 6 is - 10

Thus x = - 10 is a solution to the inequality
