Explanation:

If 2x – 1 is a factor of 16x4 + 24x3 + 2x + f, find f.

If 2x - 1 = 16x⁴ + 24x³ + 2x + f, find f.

2x - 1 = 0

2x = 1

x = 1/2

Hence

f(1/2) = 16(1/2)⁴ + 24(1/2)³ + 2(1/2) + f

= 16(1/16) + 24(1/8) + 1 + f

= 1 + 3 + 1 + f

= 5+ f

f = -5
