Answer: 23.

Step 1: Find area of inner square = 6 cm ×6 cm =36 cm2

Step 2: Find area of outer shape = 8 cm + 15 cm

= 23cm2

Step 3: Area of shaded region = area of outer shape – area of inner square

= 36 cm2 –23 cm2

= 13 cm2
